Google Stitch
otherby google
An AI-native software design canvas from Google Labs that transforms natural language, sketches, and wireframes into high-fidelity UI designs and functional React applications.
Key features
Free tier available, AI Pro at $19.99/mo
Designers and product teams who want to go from a rough idea, sketch, or voice description to a polished UI mockup in minutes instead of hours
Completely free with daily credits and no paid tier required. One of the most generous free offerings among AI design tools.
What it does
AI-Native Infinite Canvas
A completely redesigned workspace with an infinite canvas that gives your ideas room to grow from early ideation to working prototypes. Supports dragging in images, text, or code directly as context for generation.
Learn moreDesign Agent with Agent Manager
A new AI design agent that reasons across your entire project's evolution. The Agent Manager tracks progress and lets you work on multiple design directions in parallel while staying organized.
Learn moreVoice Mode
Speak directly to your canvas using one of multiple voice options. The agent responds with spoken audio, can modify designs in real time, offer critiques, brainstorm ideas, and interview you to build designs from your business objectives.
Learn moreText to UI Generation
Describe your interface in natural language and Stitch generates complete UI screens with layout, components, branding, and typography. Works for both mobile and web layouts. You can start with business objectives or inspiration rather than wireframes.
Learn moreImage and Wireframe Input
Upload hand drawn sketches, rough wireframes, or screenshots of existing designs and Stitch interprets them into polished digital interfaces.
Learn moreDESIGN.md (Portable Design Systems)
An agent-friendly markdown file that captures your design rules (colors, fonts, spacing, components). Export from one project or extract from any URL, then import into other Stitch projects or coding tools to maintain consistency without starting from scratch.
Learn moreInteractive Prototyping
Connect screens together and click Play to preview interactive app flows. Stitch can automatically generate logical next screens based on click context, map out user journeys, and produce QR codes for sharing during user research.
Learn moreReact App Export
Generate fully functional React applications from selected screens, not just clickable prototypes but actual working code exportable to AI Studio, Antigravity, or your own development environment.
Learn moreHTML/CSS and Tailwind Export
Export clean, semantic HTML and CSS with Tailwind support for development handoff. Preview the generated code within Stitch before exporting.
Learn moreFigma Export
Copy designs directly into Figma with Auto Layout and editable layers preserved. No plugin required; works via clipboard paste.
Learn moreMCP Server, SDK, and Skills
Official MCP server at stitch.googleapis.com/mcp enables a two-way feedback loop where AI coding tools can read designs, request edits, and generate variants. The open source Stitch SDK and Skills ecosystem (2.4k GitHub stars) extend this further.
Learn moreDirect Edits
Manually edit text and images directly on the canvas, or highlight a specific part of the design for targeted AI changes without regenerating the entire screen.
Theme Customization
Adjust colors (with color picker), fonts (from Google Fonts), and corner radius through an edit modal to match your brand guidelines across all screens.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Completely free with daily credits and no paid tier required. One of the most generous free offerings among AI design tools.
- The design agent and voice mode create a conversational design experience where you can brainstorm, get critiques, and iterate by speaking, not just typing prompts.
- Now generates functional React applications, not just static mockups. This closes the gap with app builders like v0 and Bolt.new while retaining design tool strengths.
- DESIGN.md provides a portable, agent-friendly format for design systems that works across Stitch projects and coding tools. Extract from any URL or define manually.
- Figma export preserves Auto Layout and editable layers, so designs are immediately usable in a professional Figma workflow rather than flattened images.
- The MCP server, SDK, and Skills ecosystem (2.4k stars) create a two-way bridge between design and code, where AI coding agents can read, edit, and generate design variants programmatically.
- Image and wireframe input means you can sketch on paper, take a photo, and get a polished digital UI in minutes. No need to describe everything in words.
Cons
- React app export is new and still maturing. The generated code provides a starting point for frontend developers but complex interactivity, backend logic, and database integration still need to be built manually.
- Designs can look similar across projects, defaulting to a limited set of layout structures. You may need significant manual refinement or strong DESIGN.md rules to achieve a distinctive look.
- No design system integration with existing component libraries or Google's own Material Design system. DESIGN.md helps with consistency but is not a full design system connector.
- Beta/experimental status means Google could change, restructure, or discontinue Stitch at any time. The daily credit limits and long term pricing model may evolve as it matures beyond Google Labs.
- Voice mode and the design agent are powerful but can be unpredictable. Complex multi-screen changes sometimes require multiple iterations to get right.
- Generation can still take a couple of minutes for complex screens, which is slower than app builders like v0 or Bolt.new that produce results in seconds.
How to get started
Sign in and open Stitch
Navigate to stitch.withgoogle.com and sign in with your Google account. Stitch runs entirely in the browser with no installation required. You must be 18 or older and in a country where Gemini is available.
Start with text, voice, sketch, or template
Type or speak a description of what you want to build. You can start with a business objective ('I need a landing page that converts trial users'), upload a hand drawn sketch, or use one of the built-in templates (SaaS Dashboard, Health App, etc.) as a starting point.
Iterate with the design agent
Select any screen and request changes through chat or voice. The design agent reasons across your entire project and can critique designs, suggest improvements, and generate variants. Use the Agent Manager to explore multiple directions in parallel.
Set up your design system
Use DESIGN.md to define or extract design rules (colors, fonts, spacing) from any URL. Import existing design systems or extract one from a reference site to maintain consistency across screens and projects.
Build interactive prototypes
Connect screens together and click Play to preview interactive flows. Stitch can auto-generate logical next screens based on click context. Generate QR codes to share prototypes during user research.
Export to Figma, code, or React
Export to Figma with Auto Layout and editable layers via clipboard paste. Export as HTML/CSS with Tailwind support. Or generate a fully functional React application and send it to AI Studio, Antigravity, or your own dev environment.
