Dia
An AI native browser by The Browser Company (makers of Arc) where you chat with your tabs, teach the browser Skills, and let it learn your preferences through Memory.
What it is
Dia is an AI native web browser built by The Browser Company, the team behind Arc. Instead of adding AI features to a traditional browser, Dia was designed from the ground up with AI as the core interaction model. You can chat with any tab to ask questions about what you are reading, teach the browser reusable Skills (like summarizing articles in a specific format), and let Memory learn your preferences over time. The Browser Company was acquired by Atlassian for approximately $610 million in late 2025, and the team continues to develop Dia under the Atlassian umbrella. Arc browser is in maintenance mode (still available but receiving only Chromium security updates, with no new features planned), making Dia the successor and the team's sole focus going forward. Currently available on macOS (14+ with M1 or later), with the latest release as of late May 2026 being v1.33.0.

Writers and communicators who want AI writing assistance that learns their voice and style over time through Memory
Professionals juggling dozens of tabs who want smart organization that actually understands the content of their tabs
Anyone curious about AI browsers who wants a polished, well designed alternative to Comet or Chrome with Gemini
Arc users looking for a new home now that Arc is in maintenance mode, and want the next evolution of that design philosophy with AI at the core
Pros and cons
Pros
- +AI is the foundation of the browser, not a bolted on feature. Every interaction is designed around AI assistance from the ground up.
- +Skills let you teach the browser repeatable tasks, turning common workflows into one click actions.
- +Memory learns your preferences automatically, so the browser gets more helpful over time without manual configuration.
- +Inherits Arc's clean, thoughtful design. The interface is beautiful and uncluttered compared to Chrome or other browsers.
- +Backed by Atlassian's $610M acquisition, ensuring long term development resources and support.
Cons
- −macOS only for now. Windows and mobile users cannot use Dia yet.
- −Dia Pro at $20/month is a meaningful cost for a browser, especially when free alternatives like Chrome exist.
- −Relatively new product, so the feature set is still evolving. Some capabilities may feel incomplete compared to mature browsers.
- −Smaller community and ecosystem compared to Chrome or even Arc. Fewer tutorials, guides, and community resources available.
- −The free tier has usage limits on AI chat and Skills. Heavy users will hit the cap quickly and need Dia Pro for unlimited access.
