03Writing Rules

8th grade reading level. Simple words, short sentences, clear ideas.
Specific numbers, not vague claims. "47% faster" rather than "much faster."
Use "you" more than "we." The reader is the hero, not your company.
Cut ruthlessly. If removing a word does not change the meaning, remove it.
One CTA per piece. Never give the reader two things to do at once.
Read everything out loud. If you stumble, rewrite it.
