Overview
Okara is a privacy first AI chat platform built by Metaschool, a Singapore based company backed by Sequoia Capital. Launched in December 2025, Okara gives users access to 36+ open source AI models (including Qwen 3, DeepSeek R1, DeepSeek V3, Llama 4, Mistral, Kimi K2, MiniMax, and GLM) through a single subscription, with end to end encryption on every conversation. The core idea is simple: instead of paying separately for ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, you get one platform with dozens of models and the ability to switch between them mid conversation without losing context. All models run on Okara's own servers (not routed to third party APIs), and every message is encrypted client side before it ever leaves your device. Beyond chat, Okara includes integrated web and social media search (with cited results), AI image generation, file based Projects, AI Agents for SEO and Reddit monitoring, team workspaces with shared memory, and a curated prompt library for 30+ professional roles.
