What are AI Integrations?
Integrations connect your AI chatbot to external apps and services so it can take actions beyond just generating text. With integrations, the AI can read your Google Docs, search your company's files, check your calendar, send messages, run code, and interact with dozens of other tools directly from the chat. This transforms the AI from a standalone assistant into a connected hub that fits into your existing workflow.
Common use cases- Connecting to Google Workspace, Slack, or Notion so the AI can reference your real data
- Automating workflows that span multiple apps (summarize an email, create a task, update a spreadsheet)
- Giving the AI access to specialized tools like code interpreters, data analysis engines, or search APIs
What about MCP (Model Context Protocol)?
All apps in the directory are built on MCP under the hood, but most users never need to interact with MCP directly. If you are a developer, you can enable Developer Mode in Settings > Apps > Advanced settings to connect ChatGPT to any custom MCP server. This is available on the web app for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. The desktop app does not support custom MCP connections yet.
