What is AI Deep Research?

Deep research is an advanced mode where the AI autonomously conducts extensive, multi step research on your behalf. It reads dozens (sometimes hundreds) of web pages, follows leads across sources, compiles findings, and delivers a comprehensive research report. Think of it as having a research assistant who spends minutes (not seconds) investigating a topic thoroughly, rather than giving a quick surface level answer.

Common use cases
  • Conducting market research, competitive analysis, or literature reviews across many sources
  • Investigating complex questions that require synthesizing information from multiple domains
  • Preparing detailed briefings or reports where accuracy and comprehensiveness matter more than speed

Autonomous browsing differentiator

Deep Research is an AI research agent that autonomously browses the web for 5 to 30 minutes, reading and analyzing hundreds of sources to produce a comprehensive, cited report. Think of it as hiring a research analyst who works in minutes instead of hours.

Deep Research Tips

  • Be extremely specific: "Analyze the competitive landscape of project management tools in Europe, focusing on pricing, market share, and AI features" produces much better results than "Tell me about project management tools"
  • Attach a spreadsheet or document with existing data so it can build on it
  • Use follow up prompts mid research to redirect if it goes down an unproductive path
  • For academic research, specify: "Focus on peer reviewed papers and official government statistics"
